Magazine name/logo
Title and date – The title for this magazine is not actually
the title telling the readers that the page is a contents page. The title for
this magazine is the month and year of the issue. Although the layout strongly
suggests that it is a contents page, the title may confuse the readers. The
title does however attract the audience because of its bold font in a large
text size. This title also shows the date.
Images – The images on this page make the page more
interesting and easier to navigate. They also give a hint as to what is in some
of the articles in the magazine. These images could link to the featured
articles, as they will grab attention, and the numbers on the images corresponding
with the page numbers underneath, makes it easy for the readers to find these
articles above the rest.
Magazine name/logo – The magazine name and logo
has been put at the bottom right of the page. This reminds people what magazine
they are reading
Columns – This contents page has been set out in columns.
This is common in magazine contents pages, specifically regional magazines.
Writing the contents in this layout keeps the page neat, and makes it a lot
easier for the readers to look through the contents, and find the page for the
article they want to read.
Chronological order & page numbers – The page numbers
and articles are written in chronological order. This makes it a lot easier for
the readers to find the page they are looking for.
Sub-lines and Sub-titles –
The sublines on this contents page give the readers a hint as to what they will
find on said page. This encourages readers to read the articles, as they will
know what the article is about. The sub-lines are placed under the sub-titles. The sub-titles tell the readers what the articles are about, just by the title it goes by.
Colour
Scheme – The colour scheme for this contents page is very simple. The colours
used are white, gold, black, and pink. These colours keep the magazine looking modern
but attracts a more feminine audience because of the pink colour. The pink
stands out amongst the other colours, drawing attention to certain parts of the
magazine.
